Beethoven's Wig

Yesterday, we drove down to Charlottesville to see Beethoven's Wig.  It was hilarious and the kids and we moms really enjoyed it!  If you don't know what Beethoven's Wig is, it is a funny guy and 4 real opera-type singers.  The lead guy has written funny lyrics to many, many well known classical music pieces and they all sing them together in a very animated fun way. It's a great introduction to classical music and the lyrics really stick in your head.  You find yourself singing "classical music" all day long.  They've got 3 CDs out now and just finished recording the 4th.

Afterwards, we hung out in old town Charlottesville.  It's a great walking only shopping and eating area.  All the restaurants have outdoor seating.  Awesome!

The kids found an old carousel.  It's not motorized and the kids had a blast running around making it spin as fast as they could.

This was a "Freedom of Speech" slate wall.  It has a little chalk holder ledge and a quote about freedom of speech.  Everyone is free to write on the wall.

There were lots of craftsmen selling their wares all along the shopping area.

Yum!

I loved all the old buildings.  I definitely want to go back and finish checking all the stores and ethnic restaurants out!
