My dad recently mentioned to me an
old book about cooking food on your car engine, called
Manifold Destiny, when we were discussing the problems of having
to eat cold lunches when we travel places due to our restricted
gluten-free and rotation diets. Then yesterday I saw
a video of someone cooking a shrimp foil-packed on their engine
and so thought that the coincidences were too obvious to ignore and
that we just had to try it. After all, we'd already
baked cookies in
the windshield of our car this past summer.
We decided to cook hotdogs and
bananas with chocolate chips on the engine today while we were out
running errands.

And here we were retrieving our food
packet at our destination.

We were sad to find out that our
hotdogs were warm but not hot. I think we would need to drive
a lot farther to adequately warm the food. I only drove 30
miles today. I think I should save this for a day when I'll be
driving about 70 miles.
The bananas were still cold and so we
popped them in the oven when we got back home and they were
delicious!
