Constellations

Last week, we got to go to a great planetarium.  It was really cool!  The presenter did a great job.  We all learned a lot.  You probably all know that the first letters of the direction words - North, East, West, and South - are NEWS and that they happen to spell the word "news" but did you know that that is where the word news comes from.  It's not just a coincidence.  The word was made to mean any current information or happening which comes from every direction in the world (North, East, West and South).  Cool!

We learned about some of the constellations that are visible this time of year, as well.  Last night the kids and I went outside and found Orion and Cassiopeia.  Tonight we'll look for Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Draco if it's not cloudy.  If you click the names of the constellations below then you can read the stories behind the stars' pictures.
