We decided to try to grow as many varieties of
mold as we could to compare and contrast. We also wanted to
see if there would be a difference in mold growth on items with lots
of preservatives verses few preservatives.


I saw this done on another website
and expected our results to be the same as
his results but for some
reason they were different. We expected that the preservatives
used in the McDonald's burger would slow down the growth of mold and
that the preservative-free burger would mold quickly but they ended
up molding at a pretty equal speed. I don't know if we needed
to separate the two burger to avoid contamination or not.
Maybe we'll try this again and put the burgers in separate
containers to see what will happen.
