Solar Balloon

This morning was a nice cool morning with lots of sun so we decided to try out our solar balloon.  We made a homemade one last year that was fairly successful and decided to buy a real one this year to try out.  First we rolled it out.

Then ran to filled it with cool air, tied it off and attached the string.  Immediately, the cool air inside started to heat up from the sun and the balloon started to rise.

Awesome!!!  It went up very high!

Oops!  Then it came down some and got caught in a tree.  Ooops!!!!!!  Not good.

So now it is stuck in a tree over our driveway.  We tied the other end of the string to another tree and hope it will deflate somehow on its own or self untangle itself.  I don't think either is going to happen though.  Not good.  Guess it will be easier for new guests to locate our house now.  We can always say "we're the house below the giant black balloon".
